Veitshöchheim - February 13, 2008 - The real Perl programmer meets brian at Perl Bootcamp in Frankfurt, April 28 - May 2, 2008

Big Nerd Ranch Europe, premier provider of intensive training classes for web developers, system administrators and programmers, announces a new opportunity to learn intermediate Perl programming under the leadership of Perl expert, brian d foy. The intensive five-day training taught at the distraction free environment of Kloster Eberbach near Frankfurt, Germany is scheduled for April 28 - May 2, 2008. Perl is a dynamic programming language used for a wide range of tasks including system administration, web development, GUI application development, network programming, database manipulation, and many more. Intermediate Perl Bootcamp is ideal for everyone interested in learning how to use Perl as a real programming language, and not just a scripting language.

Students signing up before March 21, 2008 apply for the early bird fee and save €200.

The intensive five-day class taught by brian d foy, author of several O'Reilly Perl books, is the fastest way to master the ideas and techniques of Perl programming by doing everything more effectively, efficiently, and elegantly. Intermediate Perl Bootcamp helps students to make the leap from the easy things to the hard ones and become a real Perl programmer.

All students attending the class receive a copy of the O'Reilly book Intermediate Perl, second edition (commonly referred to as the Alpaca book) as the primary text for the class. For best results the course requires some previous experience in using the Perl language. The course is ideal for programmers who have completed the O'Reilly Nutshell book, Learning Perl, or who otherwise have a good background in the basics of Perl.

At the end of the five day Perl Bootcamp, students will emerge fully skilled in the ability to develop complex Perl applications using Perl Objects, References, and Modules. Other key topics include, but are not limited to:

brian d foy has achieved distinction in the Perl community as a co-author of works for O'Reilly, including Learning Perl (4th Edition) and Intermediate Perl. He is also known for his publication of The Perl Review, the only print magazine devoted to Perl. He has presented at numerous conferences and created the first ever Perl user group, the New York Perl Mongers, and founded and runs the non-profit Perl-advocacy foundation, Perl Mongers, Inc., devoted to the establishment and promotion of Perl user groups throughout the world. Given his level of expertise, knowledge, and renown in the Perl community, brian d foy's exceptional gifts as a long-time instructor of Perl programming add an extraordinary value rarely found in this combination.

"There are many gifted programmers in the world who are passionate about their subject areas. However, passion doesn't always translate into the ability to communicate information to fellow users in a classroom setting," mused Aaron Hillegass, Big Nerd Ranch founder. "brian is an exceptional engineer and instructor. The Big Nerd Ranch is excited to have a powerhouse like brian instructing one of our bootcamps, especially one so content-rich as Perl. If you need to learn to use Perl effectively, sign up for the class before your seat is gone."
