More AboutCamp Where
Frequently Asked QuestionsCamp Where was conceived by Tom Hillegass, he of the "swimmingholes.org" fame (besides being Aaron's father of course) We hope that this application will be the first place you will consult when you decide to go camping.
Camp Where provides information about all public campgrounds: National Park, National Forest, Corps of Engineers, TVA, BLM, State Park, State Forest, State Recreation Areas, County and City campgrounds and more. Only car-accessible campgrounds with 5 or more campsites (not walk/hike-in, boat-in, horse camps or group camps) are included. Those that require a car ferry are duly noted. We include all campgrounds whether reservable or not.
We do not include privately owned campgrounds. You can search campsites by auto geo-location or campsite name. Data for each campground consist of geo coordinates, number of sites, current weather and facility and hook-up information where available. Contact & Reservation Phone numbers and web links where available are provided for further interaction.
Additionally, if you would like to update information about a particular site you can send in your suggestions for that site. Our crack team of experts (well, just Tom, really) will evaluate your suggestions, cross check them for validity and incorporate them in the database so that it's available for everyone to share.
