We've taught this class many times, and more than a few students have said, "Wow, this was the most difficult class I have ever taken. I really, really wish I had done a little preparation before I came." Here are some suggestions how you can trump your predecessors.
Before beginning these steps, please review the course content and prerequisites.
You should download Xcode to your Mac before arriving for class. Please complete this before your arrival and do not plan on downloading Xcode after you arrive. Preparing ahead will save class time. You can get it from the Mac App Store. You should also run Software Update (Available from the menu on your Mac) and install any available updates for OS X or Xcode.
In order to get the best possible experience from the class, we recommend that you bring an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with you. Testing the apps that we write in class will be much more fun if you can see them on your device. If you do bring a device with you, please make sure that it has the latest version of iOS installed.
